ABOUT THE AUTHOR:Guy Smith
Guy Smith is a writer, songwriter, and political provocateur. Guy has chosen to make gun owner rights the focal point of his political activism because “No civil right has come under such unrelenting attacks as the 2nd Amendment.” He is also a regular speaker on television, radio and at meetings.

So how did Gun Facts come about? During his early days, Guy discovered that a lot of  the information being provided by gun control groups was just plain wrong. The Gun Facts ebook was created to debunk gun control myths. As Gun Facts grew, a number of other activists volunteered their time to help with research, fact checking, citations, proof reading, and publicity.

There is a lot of information to take in so I suggest reading it a section at a time or start with the sections that interest you most. I’d like to thank Guy for allowing me to share Gun Facts with you. You can download it and other great materials on my resources page.

Review: What Every Gun Owner Needs to Know About Self-Defense Law

While surfing the internet recently for free gun information I came upon What Every Gun Owner Needs to Know About Self-Defense Law from the Armed Citizens’ Legal Defense Network. The Armed Citizens’ Legal Defense Network’s mission is to educate gun owners about their interaction with the criminal justice system after a self-defense shooting.

They remind us of our responsibilities as gun owners to:

1. Ensure that our guns do not fall into the hands of criminals due to our carelessness.

2. Ensure that a child doesn’t get a hold of our guns.

3. Ensure that when we handle guns we are safe and responsible.

4. Understand the laws regarding use of deadly force and to be aware of what may happen in legal proceedings after a gun is used in self defense.

This booklet is available to everyone as a FREE down loadable PDF here. It is a quick read as the legal language has been simplified for common comprehension.

This 16 page booklet is packed with information for American gun owners. The sections covered are:

• Introduction from Marty Hayes, President of the ACLDNWhat Every Gun Owner Needs to Know About Self-Defense Law

• The high cost of self defense

• When is deadly force justified?

• The affirmative defense of self defense

• The initial aggressor rule

• Defending others

• The Castle Doctrine and the Duty to Retreat

• Gun owner rights and responsibilities

• Information about the ACLDN and how you can join

Some of the material is the same as in my CCW training but I feel that there is no such thing as too much information for a gun owner. This booklet only explains general concepts of self-defense law that will apply in all 50 states. You are encouraged to find out more about your own state’s laws. This booklet is a must-have! I suggest you download it, print it, read it and review it often.

Happy Shooting,
Elisa
