Gun Quote Friday: Richard Henry Lee

Today’s gun quote comes from a not so well known founding father named Richard Henry Lee. He lived in Virginia and is known for giving the motion in the Second Continental Congress that called for the colonies’ independence from Great Britain. Lee was also a signer of the Declaration of Independence.

Richard Henry Lee

‘‘To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of people always possess arms, and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them.’’

– Richard Henry Lee, 1787

Gun Quote Friday: Ann Coulter

Today’s gun quote comes from the article “What Liberals Don’t Know About Guns” by Ann Coulter, a Legal Affairs Correspondent for Human Events and author.

Ann Coulter

“It’s so adorable when people who wouldn’t know a high-capacity magazine from Vanity Fair start telling gun owners what they should want and need.”

– Ann Coulter, Author

It is true that most people who are against guns don’t know the first thing about them. Many have never even held a gun let alone shot one. What do you think? Should people who haven’t used a gun be able to pass gun laws?

Gun Quote Friday: Susan B. Anthony

Today’s quote doesn’t directly correlate with guns but I think it should. The strong and independent Susan B. Anthony gives women the following advice.

Susan B. Anthony

“I declare to you that women must not depend upon the protection of man, but must be taught to protect herself, and there I take my stand.”

– Susan B. Anthony

I think the best way for a woman to protect herself is to own and know how to use a gun

Gun Quote Friday: Policeman

If you need a little humor today you’ll get it from our gun quote. It’s short and simple but so true!

Policeman

“I carry a gun because I can’t carry a cop.”

Gun Quote Friday: Jeff Cooper

It’s another Friday and here’s another gun quote. Earlier this week we learned about Cooper’s Color Code and today we gain more wisdom from him.

“Owning a handgun doesn’t make you armed any more than owning a guitar makes you a musician.”

– Jeff Cooper, Author and combat pistol instructor

The conclusion to draw is that you must practice. You need to train and know your gun inside and out. You should be comfortable with your gun in order to use it properly and call yourself armed.

Gun Quote Friday: Howard Nemerov

Today’s gun quote is a message to all ladies. Howard Nemerov is the author of Four Hundred Years Of Gun Control – Why Isn’t It Working? and is a former civilian disarmament supporter and medical researcher. He now investigates the civil liberty of self defense and examines the issue of gun control. In his article For Women, Not Resisting Attackers Can Be a Lethal Strategy, he tells us that firearms help women even the playing field against a male attacker who averages 40 pounds more lean muscle mass and gives us the following message.

Howard Nemerov

“Ladies: Don’t limit your options, or your children’s future, because of an ideology or a fear.”

– Howard Nemerov, Author

You may not want to need a gun or you may be affraid of them, but look at this research Howard shares from the same article, “Examination of the FBI Supplemental Homicide reports for the years 2000-2007 shows that over half of all women who successfully defended themselves from violent attackers used a firearm.”

Did you catch that? OVER HALF of the women who SUCCESSFULLY defended themselves from violent attackers USED A FIREARM. You have a greater chance of survival if you own and know how to use a gun. Do you want to increase your safety? I know I feel safer by myself when armed than I do unarmed with another female. Why? Because I understand my physical limitations and that almost anyone is bigger and stronger than myself. I know I can defend myself better with a gun than with another woman by my side without one.

Gun Quote Friday: Guns and Matches

I love how a few carefully chosen words can have such a deep meaning. Today’s gun quote is such an example.

lit match

“If guns cause crime, do matches cause arson?”

– Author Unknown

Objects cannot act on their own. It is the person using them that should be held accountable.

Gun Quote Friday: Theodore Haas, Holocaust Survivor

I found more than a great gun quote today – I found a piece of history that reminds us why we need to protect our freedoms. Today’s quote comes comes from the transcript of an interview conducted by Aaron Zelman, founder of Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership (JPFO). In this interview with Holocaust survivor, Theodore Haas we hear a warning to America.

“In my opinion, the people of America had better start asking and demanding answers to some hard questions about firearms ownership, especially – if the government does not trust me to own firearms, why or how can the people be expected to trust the government?”

Theodore Haas, Holocaust Survivor

Here are a few questions from the interview:

Q.) Did the camp inmates ever bring up the topic, “If only we were armed before, we would not be here now”?

A.) Many, many times. Before Adolph Hitler came to power, there was a black market in firearms, but the German people had been so conditioned to be law abiding, that they would never consider buying an unregistered gun. The German people really believed that only hoodlums own such guns. What fools we were. It truly frightens me to see how the government, media, and some police groups in America are pushing for the same mindset. In my opinion, the people of America had better start asking and demanding answers to some hard questions about firearms ownership, especially – if the government does not trust me to own firearms, why or how can the people be expected to trust the government?

There is no doubt in my mind that millions of lives could have been saved if the people were not “brainwashed” about gun ownership and had been well armed. Hitler’s thugs and goons were not very brave when confronted by a gun. Gun haters always want to forget the Warsaw Ghetto uprising, which is a perfect example of how a ragtag, half-starved group of Jews took up 10 handguns and made as**s out of the Nazis.

Q.) What words of warning would you like to give to young people who will soon be eligible to vote?

A.) Vote only for politicians who trust the people to own all types of firearms, and who have a strong pro-Second Amendment voting record. Anti-gunownership politicians are very dangerous to a free society. Liberty and freedom can only be preserved by an armed citizenry. I see creeping fascism in America, just as in Germany, a drip at a time; a law here, a law there, all supposedly passed to protect the public. Soon you have total enslavement. Too many Americans have forgotten that tyranny often masquerades as doing good. This is the technique the Liberal politicians/Liberal media alliance are using to enslave America.

Q.) What message do you have for ultra-Liberal organizations and individuals who want America disarmed?

A.) Their ignorance is pitiful – their lives have been too easy. Had they experienced Dachau, they would have a better idea of how precious freedom is. These leftist should leave America. These Sarah Brady types must be educated to under-stand that because we have an armed citizenry, that a dictatorship has not yet happened in America. These anti-gun fools are more dangerous to Liberty than street criminals or foreign spies.

I highly suggest you read the full interview.

The picture above shows captured Jewish women in Budapest, Hungary (20–22 October 1944). Do you want to see this happening to you in our country some day? Like Hass says, “…a drip at a time; a law here, a law there, all supposedly passed to protect the public.” Ladies please do your part, the gun rights battle is not just for men to fight!

Gun Quote Friday: Eleanor Roosevelt

March is Women’s History month and I found out that Eleanor Roosevelt was a Shooting Diva! This first lady packed heat for over 25 years, starting shortly after moving into the White House in 1933.

Eleanor Roosevelt

“I carried it religiously and during the summer I asked a friend, a man who had been one of Franklin’s bodyguards in New York State, to give me some practice in target shooting so that if the need arose I would know how to use the gun.”

– Eleanor Roosevelt

Eleanor Roosevelt was a remarkable woman and the first First Lady to give a press conference, the first to testify before Congress, the first to write a newspaper column, and the first to become a political figure in her own right. Will you become the first female in your family or group of friends to learn how to shoot and carry a gun for protection?

Gun Quote Friday: Walter Mondale

Walter Mondale is experienced in politics having served as the Attorney General of Minnesota, a U.S. Senator, United States Vice President, and later the Ambassador to Japan. He’s heard the pros and cons to gun ownership many times and despite being a Democrat, realizes the importance of citizens being allowed to practice their 2nd Amendment right to bear arms. Today’s gun quote tells it like it is.

Walter Mondale

“Gun bans don’t disarm criminals, gun bans attract them.”

Walter Mondale

Why do gun bans attract criminals? Because they know, no one has a gun to stop them and the gun they have. He who holds the gun, holds the power. Don’t be found powerless. Do your part by owning a gun, joining the National Rifle Association (NRA) and voting for your gun rights.
